I ran across an ad recently that I really had to investigate myself. The ad basically says, if you have McCormick spices in your spice rack that are in the old square tin, those spices are at least 15 years old! Here’s the ad:

So this year, while visiting my grandma, I thought I’d see if she had any of these old tins in HER spice cabinet. No way, I thought. Someone couldn’t possibly have spices that are 15 years old.

But I was wrong.

So when she asked what the heck I was doing taking a picture of her spice cabinet, I had to elaborate. I explained the whole 15 year old tin thing and her response was… “That’s nothing, a few years ago I cleaned out that cabinet and found some spices way back from when I was living in Hawaii”! She moved away from Hawaii in 1952.

How about some Cinnamon Toast?
